Seasons in the Sun is an English-language adaptation of "Le Moribund". It was a 1974 hit for Canadian singer Terry Jacks, his only successful hit in the United States.
In both the original and adaptation, a singer is nearing death and is bidding farewell to people he knows. In the Jacks version the persons are a childhood friend, his father, and "my little one" (presumed to be his daughter). The original song contained a verse to an unfaithful lover which is not in the Jacks version.
The song is unique in that it has routinely made lists of the worst songs ever written (due to its sentimentalism) but also is one of the very few singles to have sold over 10 million copies.
