Aden

From Conservapedia

Aden is a strategically-important port city of the Republic of Yemen, located at the mouth of the Red Sea. Between 1967 and 1990 it was the capital city of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, before that state merged with the existing Republic of Yemen (North Yemen) and San'a became capital of the united country.

From 1886 to 1967 Aden and its hinterland had formed a British Protectorate, and British forces fought an ultimately unsuccessful campaign against pro-independence insurgents from 1962 to 1967.
