Camellia

The Camellia is a plant with a colorful flower, any of the variety of shrubs of the genus Camellia, especially Camellia japonica. There are over one hundred varieties of Camellia. The plant typically has glossy green leaves and roselike flowers in colors of red, pink, or white.^[1] The plant is native to Asia. The Camellia flower is named after G.J. Camellus, a Jesuit missionary who brought it to Europe. Camellia is the state flower for Alabama.^[2]
