The Foo Fighters are an American alternative rock band. It was originally formed in 1995 by Dave Grohl and currently also consists of Chris Shiflett and Nate Mendel. They are famous for being the creators of post grunge, after the disbandment of Nirvana, Grohl's previous band. They spawned hit singles such as "Everlong," "Times Like These," "Learn To Fly," and "Best Of You". Their name comes from the nonsense word "foo", which was used to describe unknown radar blips.
Taylor Hawkins, who had played drums for the band since 1997, died in March 2022.
