Ordinance

From Conservapedia

An ordinance is a rule established by authority; may be a municipal statute of a city council, regulating such matters as zoning, building, safety, matters of municipality, etc. This term is sometimes confused with ordnance.

Some Christian churches, such as most Baptist churches, refer to baptism and the Lord's Supper as the ordinances of the church and regard these as symbolic acts of obedience.[1][2] This is in distinction to the sacraments of other churches.
