Local Michigan Election Sees 65 Percent Of Measures Approved

Michigan: On February 28 Michigan residents had their primary election where local issues were decided along with Presidential hopefuls. Out of Michigan's counties, thirty-one had posted election information for their ballots. There were a total of 66 measures which were voted on, 43 of them were approved by residents. The majority of issues which were decided dealt with school bonds and taxes as well as city taxes. Thirty measures overall dealt with school related issues, of those eighteen were approved by voters. City property taxes was the next most prevalent issues with twenty-four total measures dealing with city tax questions. Of those twenty-four measures listed, nineteen were approved by voters. Overall, a majority of residents approved renewing taxes.
