Arai is a small village of 398 hectares in Jalalpur Tehsil in Ambedkar Nagar district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Arai depends on Jalalpur (MB), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Arai's pin code is 224149[4], and village code is 06083800. The area of Arai is segregated as 289 hectares irrigated area, 56 hectares unirrigated area. the 55 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 72 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Arai has One post office (Arai B.O) and One public telephone. Arai has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Arai is a census village in the district of Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 3573 and has total administration over 522 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

The workforce is 928 male, 673 female with 512 (31.98%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 359 males and 153 females. 159 males and 106 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 58 male and 5 female agricultural labor. 1089 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalalpur (MB) and Ambedkar Nagar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
