Energy Exploration

From Conservapedia

Energy exploration is the search for oil and natural gas underground.[1] A major technique is to conduct a seismic survey to determine the depth of rock layers that may contain hydrocarbons.[2] Prior to 1980, geologist would look for porous rock formations and avoid drilling in shale or other non-porous layers. However, with the advent of fracking, oil and gas is produced from shale, bringing energy exploration to many areas of the United States for the first time.
