Four seats on the Springfield School District 186 school board were up for general election on April 4, 2017. District 1 incumbent Lisa Funderburg originally filed for re-election but later withdrew her candidacy, leaving challenger Anthony Mares unopposed. Incumbents Michael Zimmers and Donna Moore ran unopposed for the District 4 and 5 seats, respectively. The District 6 race saw incumbent Judith Ann Johnson defeat challenger Tom Shafer.^[1]^[2]

The first campaign finance deadline was February 27, 2017, and the second campaign finance deadline was April 3, 2017.^[4]

Zimmers reported no contributions or expenditures to the Illinois State Board of Elections as of March 2, 2017.^[5]
