Technology is a collective term for any man-made tool or tools that serve a purpose in solving a dilemma or problem.

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines technology as "the practical application of knowledge especially in a particular area", or "a capability given by the practical application of knowledge".[1]

Technological Development has preceded throughout history with one invention building upon others.

Etymology[edit]

Technology springs from the Greek root word tekne meaning child. It refers to the remarkable speed and ease with which a child can master a craft or trade which the child's parent, as an adult, may have spent 20 years in an apprenticeship to learn.
