Basti is a small village of 679 hectares in Nawabganj Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Basti depends on Banki (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Basti's pin code is 225003[4], and village code is 05759100. The area of Basti is segregated as 490.002 hectares irrigated area, 21.45 hectares unirrigated area. the 29.95 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 127 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Basti has One post office (Basti B.O). Basti has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.
The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Basti is a census village in the district of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 5342 and has total administration over 888 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 1329 (24.88%) males constitute 694 (12.99%) of the population and females 635 (11.89%).

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 1891 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1447 male, 444 female with 1317 (69.65%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1088 males and 229 females. 551 males and 81 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 345 male and 109 female agricultural labor. 574 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banki (NP) and Barabanki to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
