The Los Angeles Chargers are a National Football League (NFL) team based in Inglewood, California. They are members of the American Football Conference (AFC) West Division.

History and League Title Success[edit]

The Chargers were one of the charter members of the old AFL and were located in Los Angeles for the inaugural 1960 season before moving to San Diego in 1961.[1] In 2020, unable to connive San Diego residents to build a new stadium for them, they returned to their city of origin, where they share a stadium with the Los Angeles Rams (an arrangement which has not helped gain fans, but the franchise has managed to gain equal use of the stadium while getting the Rams to pay the bulk of the stadium's construction costs).

In the early years of the AFL they were a successful franchise, playing in five of the first six AFL title games (though winning only once in 1963). Since the merger, they are not as successful, appearing in only one Super Bowl (1994) where they lost.
