Zaragoza

Aragón is an autonomous community in northeastern Spain. Zaragoza is the capital of this region. Huesca and Teruel are two other main cities.

History[edit]

A Christian enclave fighting the Islamic capture of Spain; King Ferdinand II's marriage to Isabella of Castile in 1469 laid the foundation for a united Christian Spain and removing the last toehold of Islam. Aragon's sovereignty was ended by Philip V during the War of Spanish Succession (1701 - 1714).[1]
