Jan Metternich (born February 11, 2003), is a German rapper, singer, and songwriter. Born in Viersen, Germany Metternich lived in Mönchengladbach, Germany for his childhood before moving to Munich to study music management.^[1] He rose to fame in 2021 with his debut EP "XVIII", which amassed over 30 million digital plays on various streaming platforms.^[2]

Jan Metternich began his musical journey at the age of six when he started playing the guitar. By the age of eleven, he uploaded his first cover video to YouTube, continuing to share his music on the platform until he turned sixteen. During this period, he also honed his skills in songwriting and music production, creating his first original compositions.^[1] He began his live musical journey during his early teenage years, performing live on the streets of Mönchengladbach, where he sang and played the guitar.^[3]
