Soka Gakkai

Soka Gakkai is a Buddhist lay movement started post-World War II. It is within Nichiren Shoshu, which follows the teachings of the Japanese Buddhist monk Nichiren (1222-1282). There are on the order of 50,000 Americans involved in Soka Gakkai. One of its most famous participants is the singer Tina Turner.
