Protagonist

From Conservapedia

In a literary context, a protagonist is usually the main character of a story. They generally fall into two categories: The hero, and the anti-hero.

(Note that the protagonist isn't always the main character- Take, for example, the Sherlock Holmes series, told from Watson's point of view, even though he himself is not the main protagonist.)
