Matthew Walsh (born 1986) is an American conservative Pundit, cultural commentator. The author of 2 books, The Unholy Trinity: Blocking the Left's Assault on Life, Marriage, and Gender (2017)[1] and Church of Cowards: A Wake-Up Call to Complacent Christians (2020)[2],
Matt was born in United States|America in 1986 to his parents. He is a devout Catholic Church|Catholic and has an undisclosed number of siblings. He grew up in America and went to school for a general education, afterward, he found that his worldview went against the norms of the day and searched how to go about changing things. He began to see (from his prospective) how culture was changing for the worse by the actions of the people of influence; he saw his opinion writing and commentating could potentially help affect the world around him positively so he began to write a personal blog. This was picked up by several conservative outlets and his career took off from there.
Matt sees himself satirically as a theocratic fascist and tyrant[3] and has been making waves for people to question Postchristianity|post-Christian societal norms for years.[4] He began his career as an AM talk radio host in Delaware and then moved Lexington, Kentucky with WLAP|NewsRadio 630 WLAP beginning on June 11, 2012[5][6]. He launched his blog full time in December 2013[7]. He began working for The Daily Wire in October 2017[8], also has a daily radio show/podcast The Matt Walsh Show and a regular column he writes on various cultural topics.[9] Before starting work at The Daily Wire, he worked for Blaze Media|The Blaze TV starting in October 2014.[10] According to him, he felt that his reach would be far greater through his blog and website than his on air presence.[7] He is considered controversial and provocative[11][12][13][14] and is not afraid to speak out against things he sees as morally corrupt[15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22] and people who are not devout Christianity|Christians, at times, have seen his writings and opinions as against the writings of the Bible.[23][24][25] He characterizes his moral beliefs as higher than his political affiliation and will not support someone who he feels does not align with his values.[26] Matt will also Trending topic|trend on social media at times for comments against topics of the Woke|woke culture[27] like Transgender|transgenderism,[28][29][30][31] feminism,[32][33][34] LGBT|LGBT+ issues,[35][36][37] Race and ethnicity in the United States|race,[38][39] Abortion debate|abortion,[40][41] and religion.[42][43][44][45] The progressive website Media Matters for America|Media Matters who claims to "systematically monitor a cross section of print, broadcast, cable, radio, and Internet media outlets for conservative misinformation"[46] has compiled a list of wrongs that Matt has committed in their view.[47]
Matt tries to keep his personal life private and shields his children from the media as best he can. Currently, residing near Nashville, Tennessee, he and his wife homeschool their 4 children. As well, in his leisure time, he enjoys keeping bees.
