Doula

From Conservapedia

A doula is a birthing coach. The doula's mission is to provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. Typically, the doula will accompany the mother and spouse to the birthing room. In contrast, a midwife is a licensed professional that is trained and qualified to deliver a baby.[1]

The word "doula" derives from an ancient Greek word meaning "woman's servant".[2]
