Natural Language

A natural language is a language spoken by people that has arisen naturally from the languages spoken after the dispersal at Babel. Examples include English and French, the latter of which arose from Latin, as well as Hebrew, Aramaic and others. The term contrasts between these languages and non-human "languages", such as programming languages or dolphin squeaks, and languages artificially constructed by humans, such as Esperanto and Klingon.

Getting computers to understand natural languages is a central problem in computer science known as natural language processing.
