Detmold, Samuel:

Austrian educator and translator; lived at the end of the eighteenth and in the first half of the nineteenth century. He was one of the collaborators on the German translation of the Bible which was published by a number of the "Messefim," Breslau, 1822-27. Detmold translated the books of Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, and the Chronicles. He is also the author of a Hebrew primer with the title "Moreh Derek" (Guide of the Road), Vienna, 1815.
