Coalbed Methane

From Conservapedia

Coalbed Methane is methane that is extracted from coalbeds.

In many cases, landowners sold the right to extract coal to one entity and sold the right to extract oil and gas to a different entity. Laws in various states take opposite views on whether coalbed methane belongs to the entity that holds the coal rights to a property or to the entity that holds the oil and gas rights.
