Matera is a small village of 398 hectares in Bidhuna Tehsil in Auraiya district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Matera depends on Bidhuna (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers,One canal and Two springs. Matera is also surrounded byTwo lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Matera's pin code is 206248[4], and village code is 04110400. The area of Matera is segregated as 555.94 hectares irrigated area, 5.53 hectares unirrigated area. the 4.84 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves).
The village is connected with a single bus service. Matera has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.
The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Matera is a census village in the district of Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 2916 and has total administration over 515 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 944 (32.37%) males constitute 476 (16.32%) of the population and females 468 (16.05%).

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 1078 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 782 male, 296 female with 715 (66.33%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 627 males and 88 females. 470 males and 73 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 127 male and 10 female agricultural labor. 363 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bidhuna (NP) and Auraiya to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
