From Ballotpedia Missouri: Results posted for the February 7, 2012 election in Missouri showed that most of the measures covered were approved by voters. Even the controversial Springfield E-Verify measure was approved by a slim margin. The measure will now make it that all businesses who hire new employees must use the system to check if they are allowed to work legally. Confusion also arose with the Grain Valley school bond measure which received a majority of votes but bonds in the state need a two-thirds majority to pass. Of the twelve measures which were posted, nine of them were approved by residents. The other two measures defeated was an annexation question in the city of Jackson and an increase to the Jefferson City sales tax.
The next local election will be on February 14, 2012 in the state of Washington.
