Lynx (Web Browser)

Lynx is a plain-text web browser originally developed by the University of Kansas[1] as a Gopher client and released to the public in 1994.[2] It is designed for use with the command line. It does not interface with the mouse; keyboard shortcuts (such as in VI) are used instead to run commands. It does not display images, videos, or CSS. Lynx has been available for Microsoft Windows and DOS operating systems since 1997.;[3] a similar browser called ELinks is available for Ubuntu Linux and Macintosh.

Since screen readers designed also read only plain text, web developers can use Lynx to simulate how a blind person might interact with their website. A Lynx Viewer exists for this purpose.
