Belton City Question 3: Local Use Tax question was defeated on the April 2, 2013 election ballot in Cass County, which is in Missouri.
If approved, this measure would have authorized the City of Belton to impose a use tax at the same rate as the local sales tax at the current rate of 2.75%. This tax would change as the sales tax changed and would be repealed if the sales tax is repealed. This use tax only applies to persons who make out of state purchases that exceed $2,000 per year.[1]
