Macclesfield is a town in Cheshire, England through which the River Bollin flows.

Historically many silk products were manufactured in the town and the textile industry is still significant. AstraZeneca manufacture pharmaceutical products in the town.

Macclesfield railway station is on a branch of the West Coast Main Line from Manchester to London.

Macclesfield Town Football Club play in the English Football League Two (soccer).

Its population is 50,688 (2001).
