A bridge is a structure that allows passage over an otherwise impassible place. A bridge may be constructed of steel, wood, or other materials strong enough to support loads. Metaphorically, a "bridge" spans the distance between two topics that might not otherwise be connected. Examples of famous bridges include the Humber Bridge, the Forth Bridge, the Tay Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge. The highest bridge in the world is located in the Himalyan mountains.
