Paul Kruger

Stephanes Johannes Paulus Kruger was an Boer political leader in the late nineteenth century. He was president of the South African Republic of the Transvaal. He led his country during its war with the United Kingdom from 1899-1902. When it became clear his country would lose he fled to Switzerland, in order to find support for his people, where he stayed until his death in 1904. Kruger was a devout Calvinist.
