Samahan is a small village of 494 hectares in Meja Tehsil in Allahabad district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Samahan depends on Sirsa (Np), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Samahan's pin code is 212303[4], and village code is 05631700. The area of Samahan is segregated as 137 hectares irrigated area.
Samahan has One post office (Meja Road S.O). Samahan has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.
The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Samahan is a census village in the district of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 5490 and has total administration over 813 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 1659 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1091 male, 568 female with 683 (41.17%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 542 males and 141 females. 188 males and 65 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 38 male and 13 female agricultural labor. 976 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sirsa (Np) and Allahabad to sell matchbox and make their living.
