Steve Forbes (born July 18, 1947) is the son of publisher Malcolm Forbes, and as such is a wealthy man in his own right. He ran for the Republican Presidential Nomination in 1996 and 2000. His platform included a flat tax, medical savings accounts, a new Social Security system for working Americans, parental choice of schools for their children, term limits and a strong national defense.

He was one of the founding signatories for the neo-conservative think tank Project for the New American Century and is involved with other organizations like the American Enterprise Institute and the National Taxpayers Union.
