Ego-Dystonic Homosexuality

Ego-dystonic homosexuality is a mental disordered condition when people distressed about their same-sex attractions do not like them and pursue change as a goal.^[1] With the first choice, treatment is directed toward integrating the patient's social role and personal identity. The patient must be kept fully informed of his or her options, and the choice and the goals of therapy must be arrived at by both patient and therapist.^[2]

In the past the APA offered some hope that such people who wanted to change, could change. Later, after adopting the LGBTI agenda, APA arbitrarily declared in a politically correct language that they cannot change and ought not try to change.

The APA made their 1973 decision, only after active, practicing homosexuals gained a majority in the APA through totalitarian zapping the shrinks method and took over the editorship of the DSM. Determined as they were never to change, they declared that they, and others like them, weren’t sick. They grudgingly admitted some people didn’t like that tendency. Then in 1987 they struck the phrase “ego-dystonic homosexuality” from their catalog of mental illness.^[1] But even though heavily affected by LGBTI Gleichschaltung's vocabulary, the International Classification of Disease still lists it as of ICD-10 publication under article F66.1.^[3]
