American People

The American people refers to the legal citizens of the United States of America. The people of the fifty-state democracy of North America. By law, it can refer to the children of illegal immigrants born in the USA.

Politics[edit]

In politics, it is rhetoric that is used most often by liberal Democrats in their general speeches to the public. This is an attempt to proclaim that they know what their constituents want and are doing what the citizens ask of them.
