1. The Cold War was fought mainly by the Soviet Union (USSR) and the United States. It lasted from 1945-1991.

Absolutely correct!

2. The Korean War and the Vietnam War. I think that America played a very important role the Korean War. The prevention of communism in South Korea was important. I love MacArthur's genius plan. Even though they were nearly defeated, he found a way to push back and stop the North Korean invasion. That's awesome! Without MacArthur, the Korean War could very well have been lost.

I think the Vietnam War was very poorly handled by both Johnson and Nixon. The fact that we wasted so much time doing nothing in Vietnam is just repulsive. Johnson not allowing the generals to win the war is just tragic. By the time America finally began fighting seriously, it was too late: North Vietnam had too much power over the south. We lost so many soldiers and gained no victory in the Vietnam War.
I think that America handled the loss of so many American Soldiers well. I think that America realized that the soldiers did not die in vain. We honor these soldiers today with memorials. As Abraham Lincoln said in the Gettysburg Address, "...we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here..."
Superb use of the historical quote, and a terrific answer overall!

3. I think one of the most famous aspects of the Civil Rights Movements is Rosa Park's refusal to move from the 'white section' of the bus. But I think a lot of times we really don't realize how cruelly African Americans were treated. They were regularly spit upon, ridiculed, and abused. Imagine how much strength it must have taken Rosa Parks to stand up and defy the 'segregation rule.' She knew that she would get mistreated, hurt, and possibly even killed. It took guts to do that. That day gave new life to the Civil Rights Movement. Because that day, Rosa Parks showed real courage and defense of African American Rights that encouraged all other African American Citizens.

Excellent. May use as a model answer.

4. I think that the reason he is so well know for pushing through the Great Society programs is because they are what every nation wants. An end to poverty. That was what Johnson was trying to do. These programs would supposedly end poverty in America. Every nation wants to have no poverty and every one happy and things to go well. But that is impossible. As long as there is laziness in the world, there will be poverty.

So true about laziness. This deserves to be a model answer also!

5. I think that the best thing the 80th Congress did was cut taxes. This was not only good for the economy, it was good for Americans. It gave them a little more money to buy necessities. Organizations got the money the people were using to buy things and were able to expand and become better.

Superb.

6. I think that Phyllis Schlafly was an important person in that era because she had such an important role in the Stop ERA movement. Without her influence and enthusiasm for her cause, ERA might have been passed. Her inspirational speeches really caused Republicans to want to get involved and help prevent this bill from passing. To this day, she stands as an influential, passionate Republican who is excited about the Republican cause and has the power to get other Republicans excited.

Thanks, I appreciate that!

7. The term used was the 'Warren Court.' This court was definitely very active, as it extended into all areas previously untouched. It had an intent to apply only against the

Great start ... but what was left off in your answer? I'll assume that was a technical glitch and that you backed up your opinion with some facts.
Terrific homework: 70/70. Well done!
