The University of San Diego is a private Catholic research university located in San Diego, California.

Father Junípero Serra, who established a string of Catholic missions along the California coast, was honored with a statue on its campus. The school placed a statue of Serra the statue in storage for fear of vandalism with no plans to return it to public display.[3]
