Kedar Joshi (born December 31, 1979, in Mumbai) is an Indian philosopher. His philosophical works include the NSTP (Non – Spatial Thinking Process) Theory and the UQV (Ultimate Questioner’s Vanity) Theory. Joshi has named his philosophy superultramodern. He was also the founder of Superultramodern Scientific Institution in Cambridge, England.

NSTP (Non – Spatial Thinking Process) Theory[edit]

In its philosophical attempt to explain quantum non-locality, the NSTP theory introduces a metaphysics that is both semi-idealistic and semi-dualistic. The idealistic framework, explaining quantum non-locality, represents idea of superhuman intelligence responsible for the empirical order in the universe, e.g. gravity, quantum non-locality, etc. This idea of non-spatial superhuman intelligence closely resembles Berkeley’s God. Also, the superhuman intelligence is a supernatural representation of the intelligent design of the (material) universe. The theory further conjectures a possibility of a realistic framework, the framework in which the phenomena like quantum non-locality, the phenomena which no spatial mechanical framework can supposedly explain, do not exist. The inclusion of this (mere) possibility ultimately makes the idealistic framework semi-idealistic and the dualistic framework semi-dualistic.

UQV (Ultimate Questioner’s Vanity) Theory[edit]

The UQV theory is a (philosophy of mind) idealistic and (metaphysical) semi-solipsistic theory which contends that the sole reason behind the existence of the material universe is the vanity of its creator, the vanity materialized through 'the creator asking the created an apparently unanswerable ultimate question about the nature of the creator’s existence'. The material universe solely contains the non-spatial existence of the author of the theory. The theory is idealistic since it denies the reality of space and it is (metaphysical) semi-solipsistic since only two minds, viz. the creator and the created, exist. The creator is then supposed to be the ultimate questioner whose existential and intellectual vanity is the reason why the universe exists. The grounds for the theory are the NSTP (Non – Spatial Thinking Process) theory and Vedic/Indian astrology. The UQV theory maintains that the nature of the birth horoscope of its author provides grounds for solipsism, and, on the basis of the idea of superhuman mind in the NSTP theory, it further conjectures the existence of the ultimate Being, the ultimate questioner, whose precise existential nature is the seemingly unanswerable ultimate question to be answered.

Superultramodern[edit]

Joshi coined the word superultramodern, meaning above/beyond/next to "ultramodern", in 2005 in his book Superultramodern Science and Philosophy.
