The Fool! is a religious tract written by Jack Chick. It was originally printed in 1992, and remains an in-stock title. It is listed on their website under the subject "Basic Gospel" and also tagged as "Little Children" and "Older Children and Adults".
Unlike most tracts that Chick (and successor David Daniels) wrote, this one uses third-party narration (as opposed to a storyline with dialogue).
The tract tells of a good king who delighted in his kingdom; his favorite subject was the court jester[1] who could always put the king in a good mood. One day the king gives the jester a golden wand, with directions that should he find a bigger fool than himself, he is to give the golden wand to that person.
Shortly thereafter the king becomes terminally ill, and the palace sends for the jester. The king tells the jester that he is going on a journey from which he will not return (speaking of his death). When the jester asks the king if he has prepared for the journey, the king replies he has not, whereupon the jester presents the golden wand to the king.
The remainder of the tract is a brief Gospel presentation, with the final scene asking the reader "[w]ould the little court jester give you that golden wand?"
