Joyce Wieland

From Conservapedia

Joyce Wieland (Born 1931 - Died 1998) is a Canadian female artist known for her paintings and her quilts. Her most famous quilt was "Reason over Passion", which once hung in Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau's private residence at 24 Sussex Drive in Ottawa, Canada.

Wieland lived most of her life in Toronto, Canada. She also produced and directed numerous short films and one feature film "The Far Shore" in 1976.

Many of her artworks were specifically about Canada and were patriotic in origin and topic, hence why her quilt ended up decorating the wall of Trudeau's home. Trudeau once had an argument with his wife Margaret Trudeau, and she tore the quilt in a fit of rage.[1]

"Reason over Passion" now hangs in the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.
