Denial is a defense mechanism used by someone that is usually applied in situations that might prove the person wrong. It is mainly the assertion that a clarification is false, even though the claim is true.
Denial is usually unjustified—especially in situations that would cause the person's ego to deflate.
It is the opposite of admitting a flaw and is mainly a cowardice tactic.
