Palestinian amora of the third century; father-in-law of Ammi. According to his own statement, he had a grandson of the same name (Ḥul. 111a). He is known as having taken part in a controversy regarding the succession of the writings of King Solomon, he himself maintaining that the book Kohelet is the last one written by him (Cant. R. i. 1).
