Worst American Generals

Here is a growing list of the worst American Generals:

• Ambrose Burnside (Civil War)

famous for his prodigious sideburns, which are named after him, he led the Union army to spectacular defeats on multiple occasions, and in at least one instance caused massive casualties for his troops by ordering them to repeatedly charge invincible defenses.^[1]

• Benedict Arnold

General who was great at the Battle of Saratoga during the American Revolution, but thought it would be much better to be a traitor.
