Everly Brothers

The Everly Brothers were a musical act consisting of Isaac Donald Everly, born on February 1, 1937 in Brownie, Kentucky and Philip Everly, born on January 19, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois. They grew up performing with their parents, two country musicians, on radio and in small town live stage shows.

The Everly Brothers burst onto the national scene with their 1957 hit “Bye, Bye Love” and followed with more than a dozen top ten hits including Hit Parade toppers, ”Wake Up Little Susie”, “All I Have To Do Is Dream”, “Bird Dog”, “Devoted To You”, “Problems”, “Take A Message To Mary”, “'Til I Kissed You”, “Let It Be Me”, “Cathy’s Clown”, When Will I Be Loved”, “So Sad”, “Ebony Eyes”, “Walk Right Back”, Crying In The Rain” and “That’s Old Fashioned”.

The Everly Brothers are the only act to have a #1 hit single on all of the Billboard charts, Pop 100, Country and R&B, at the same time. “All I Have To Do Is Dream” topped the chart on all three surveys during the week of June 2, 1958.

With 38 visits to the best selling singles charts, in 1986 the Everly Brothers were among the first recording artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2001 they received a similar tribute from the Country Music Hall of Fame. In 1997, they were awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, they also have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
