Herring

From Conservapedia

Herring is a species of marine, cold-water, oily fish. It is a very popular food in the Netherlands, after pickling in brine; in the United Kingdom it is frequently smoked and grilled (a smoked herring is called a 'kipper'). In the 19th and early 20th centuries herrings were vastly prolific in the North Sea, and were nicknamed 'silver darlings' by grateful fishermen. Large groups of 'herring girls' would travel along the east coast of Great Britain, to gut and pack herring at successive fishing ports as the main body of fish moved south.
