Anaclitic Depression

Anaclitic depression is a depression experienced by some infants between the ages of six and eighteen months who have been separated from their mothers for prolonged periods. This disorder is characterized by apathy, listlessness, weight loss, susceptibility to illness, and sometimes in extreme cases death.
