Chesapeake Bay Impact Crater

From Conservapedia

The Chesapeake Bay impact crater is one of the best preserved wet target impact craters in the world. The impact of the bolide on the eastern side of North America did significant damage to the surrounding lands of the Delmarva Peninsula, leading to the sinking of smaller island forms in recent times. Many locations around the Chesapeake have all been a cause célèbre of the Liberal Media over the last decade, as one of the leading examples of rising seas.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

The sinking land is also taught by schools and major educational institutions[9][10] as a direct result of Climate Change, never mentioning the major interstellar impact. The problem is that the sea isn't rising here, these islands are literally sinking. Rising seas means the water is going up. A sinking island means the island is going down. Due to the crater and the damage it caused, these islands are going down.

The crater was first discovered in 1983, and the extent of its range was confirmed in 1993.

Aftermath[edit]

It is believed that the speed of the bolide upon impact was nearly 60 kilometers, leaving the basement rock fractured to depths of five miles. The size of the meteor is estimated to have been the size of 5–8 miles wide.[11] The core of the crater is 24 miles across, with a circular crater of about 53 miles. This is an area nearly the size of Rhode Island and nearly as deep as the Grand Canyon. Some scientists have speculated that the low ground caused by the meteor influenced the course of the rivers and caused their convergence upon that one specific area.[12]
