Stalking In The Animal Kingdom

In the stalking phase of hunting, carnivorous predators in the animal kingdom move slowly and quietly towards their prey. Once the stalking phase of the hunt is completed, a rapid approach towards their prey commences. By means of camouflage and slow and quiet advancement, predators are often able to stealthily move towards their prey without being detected. Cheetahs stalk their prey before attacking and often come within about a hundred feet (30 meters) of their prey before they sprint towards their prey at speeds up to about 70 mph.^[1]
