Michael Q Trucks (born March 1, 1993) is an American actor, music artist, and songwriter.[1] He releases his songs under the label “Michael Q Trucks” and produces songs across multiple genres owing to his multi-cultural background.[2]
Trucks has been regarded as one of the most influential up-coming artists, best known for his singles Stay, No Love, Lost, Empty, Enough, and Lust & Pain. Since his debut in 2018, he has gained recognition and contributed to creating music that tells his personal life experiences and motivates people to accept whatever life offers and move forward amidst the odds.[3][4]
Trucks was born on March 1, 1993, in Ludington, Michigan, to his parents Mino Trucks and Yvonne Ramirez. He completed his education at Manistee High School and later graduated from the West Shore Community College and Grand Rapids Community College. In high school, he was the drummer in the band “Now or Never” and worked on several movie sets.
Trucks was inclined towards music and dance since his childhood days. He often participated in competitions in high school and taught kids dancing. He grew up listening to songs by Otis Redding, The Temptations, Frankie Lymon, and Prince. He began composing music, singing, and rapping at 14 and recorded his first song inside a closet using a Guitar Hero Mic.
In 2010, Trucks worked as a production assistant for the movies “What If” and “Jhonny.” In 2013, he acted as Forward in Silver Bells.[5][6][7]
In 2015, Trucks joined the United States Navy and travelled to different places to serve his duties. During this time, Trucks would create music influenced by his travel stories. He has composed songs relating to different chapters of his life during his tenure as a military man.[8][9]
In 2018, Trucks released his first three singles: “Stay,” “Lost,” and “No Love,” and gained popularity and fame as Q The Music.[10] Later in the year, Trucks launched his first EP, including his latest song, “Mine,”[11] and an official video that showcased his different talents. In 2020, Trucks released another set of three singles: “Empty,” “Enough,”[12] and “Lust & Pain.” His single “Pray for Me” was released the year after that. Currently, Trucks rebranded himself as Michael Q Trucks with the release of his latest single: “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” in April 2022.[13]
In his free time, Trucks enjoys creating album covers and concept EPs. He also gives advice and feedback to other people through SoundBetter.[14][15]
