Austrian writer; brother of Bernhard Münz; born at Leipnik, Moravia, May 7, 1859; studied at the universities of Vienna and Tübingen (Ph.D. Vienna, 1883). He lived successively at Rome (1885-88), Milan, Venice, and Florence (1889-91). Toward the end of 1891 he established himself at Vienna, contributing to the "Neue Freie Presse" articles on foreign politics and especially on Italy. His works include: "Aus dem Modernen Italien," studies, sketches, and letters (Frankfort-on-the-Main, 1889); "Aus Quirinal und Vatican" (Berlin, 1891); "Ferdinand Gregorovius und Seine Briefe an Gräfin Cætani-Lovatelli" ( ib. 1896); "Italienische Reminiscenzen und Profile" (Vienna, 1898); "Römische Reminiscenzen und Profile" (2d ed., Berlin, 1900); "Moderne Staatsmänner," biographical sketches (2d ed., ib. 1901).
