United States Secretary Of The Interior

The United States Secretary of Interior is the person in charge of the Department of the Interior. This department is in charge of the conservation and development of the natural resources of the United States. The Department of the Interior oversees organizations such as the Bureau of Land Management, the United States Geological Survey, and the National Park Service. The Secretary is a member of the President's Cabinet and serves on and appoints the private citizens on the National Park Foundation board. The Secretary typically comes from a western state due to the fact that the Department carries on much of its work in the west. The Secretary of the Interior is eighth in the United States presidential line of succession. The current Secretary of the Interior is Ryan Zinke.
