Kharab is a small village of 1091 hectares in Kotputli Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kharab depends on Kotputli, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kharab is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kharab's pin code is 303105[4], and village code is 01449900. The area of Kharab is segregated as 340 hectares irrigated area, 415.59 hectares unirrigated, the 36.38 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 179.98 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kharab has Eight public telephones. Kharab has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Kharab is a census village in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4531 and has total administration over 743 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kharab has 680 children, 373 boys and 307 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 543 (11.98%) males constitute 303 (6.69%) of the population and females 240 (5.30%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 671 (14.81%) males constitute 355 (7.83%) of the population and females 316 (6.97%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2190 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1142 male, 1048 female with 1053 (48.08%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 998 males and 55 females. 765 males and 34 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 100 male and 5 female agricultural labor. 1137 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kotputli and Jaipur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
