Devin Gerald Nunes (born October 1, 1973, age 49) is a member of the United States House of Representatives from California. He was the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee in the 115th Congress. He was responsible for the Nunes Memo, a four-page memo exposing corruption at the FBI and Anti-Trump bias in the Trump-Russia investigation. As a result of this, he is the recipient of the Democrats and the Mainstream Media's most vicious anti-Hispanic racism.

In late July 2020, Nunes voted in favor of removing Civil War-era statues.[2]

Nunes was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Donald Trump in early January 2021.[3]

Defamation suit[edit]

In March 2019, Nunes filed a $250,000,000 lawsuit against Twitter, Liz Mair, and various sock accounts for defamation.[4][5] Mair was the 2008 Online Communications Director for the RNC and has worked for Carly Fiorina, Rick Perry, Scott Walker, Rand Paul and Roy Blunt.

According to Liz Mair's website, "A principal focus of Liz’s work was researching and educating the media regarding Mitt Romney’s business career and liabilities associated with it, the line of attack that ultimately prevented him from winning the Presidency." The site also boasts, that she "undertook communications efforts with respect to the three cases heard by the Supreme Court concerning marriage equality where as a long-time advocate of marriage equality, she acted on behalf of Freedom to Marry, which achieved its desired outcomes in each Supreme Court case." The site says "Liz is also a prominent advocate for immigrants and pro-immigration policies, and a critic of restrictionist policies and restrictionism advocates." The site claims, "a single negative story she researched and pitched to investigative reporters regarding Trump Mortgage LLC, and which ran just days before the 2016 Virginia primary, organically made it onto the radar of 16% of Republican primary voters with zero money spent on ads to highlight it." Mair is a dual US-UK national born in Seattle in 1978, lived the entirety of her adult life in the UK until her relocation to the Washington, DC area in 2006.[6]

Following resignation of Nunes In 2021, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) has appointed Congressman Michael Turner(OH-10) to be Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, effective January 1, 2022, upon the resignation of Congressman Devin Nunes.[7]
